How to save 5% on a down payment

The Florida Hometown Heroes Housing Program makes homeownership affordable for eligible frontline community workers such as law enforcement officers, firefighters, educators, healthcare professionals, childcare employees, and active military or veterans.

About Hometown Heros

The program provides down payment and closing cost assistance to first-time, income-qualified homebuyers so they can purchase a primary residence in the community where they work and serve. The Hometown Heroes Loan Program offers a lower first mortgage rate and additional benefits to those who have served and continue to serve their country.

When looking to hire a REALTOR® here’s what you need to ask.

Suppose you think that you may be eligible for the Hometown Hero’s Program and are searching to hire a REALTOR®. Ask if they are certified and if they are great! If not, they can become certified by completing a 3-hour course offered for free by Florida Housing Finance Corporation.

You must use one of the program’s participating lenders as well. Don’t worry. There are over 275 participating lenders to choose from.
